18TH ANNUAL “ALL FOR THE LOVE OF KIDS” EVENT FOR CHILDREN’S TRUST FUND

 

DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES

 

WHEN:

18th annual fundraising event created by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Los Angeles County Supervisor, 5th District to support the Los Angeles County Children and Family Services (DCFS) Children’s Trust Fund.  The Children’s Trust Fund provides services and goods for foster children that cannot be paid for with government funding.  For over 45 years, the Trust Fund has provided a wide range of services including clothing for special events, prescription glasses, educational field trips, equipment and uniforms for sports and enrichment activities, as well as special medical, orthodontia, and dental services.

 

Three special individuals will be honored for their contributions to child welfare:

 

Arlene Gettman, the founder “From Hollywood with Love,” a Los Angeles-based talent relations and communications firm that matches both non-profit organizations and businesses with some of Hollywood’s hottest and most influential celebrities.  Arlene Getman has been an ardent supporter of foster care and adoption issues.

 

Jeanne Pritzker is the founder of Foster Care Counts and Director of the Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation, which provides financial and philanthropic support that significantly impacts the lives of our foster youth and families. In the past year, her foundation assisted the Children’s Trust Fund in providing 512 laptops to foster youth moving on to higher education.

 

Former foster youth André Truth was offered his first record deal from Jive/RCA records and has since worked with Dr. Dre, Rodney Jerkins, Snoop Lion, Good Charlotte & most recently CeeLo Greene. André is writing and directing his own film and starring alongside stars such as Mike Epps, Vivica A. Fox, Vhing Rhames, and Wood Harris.

 

Performing at the start of the show is singer/songwriter CEE-J followed by the awards program, Cameron Boyce from Disney’s hit show “Jessie,” as well as a live performance by Ryan Ochoa and the Ochoa Boyz from Disney’s “Pair of Kings.”

 

Other celebrities in attendance include actor Stephen Bishop (Lost, Girlfriends, The Game and Moneyball), Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind), and returning Los Angeles Laker Jordan Farmer.
