Get off the backs of the NFL’s replacement referees. Don’t blame them for not having the experience you expect of the regular season refs.
Without these guys stepping up there would be no Sunday Night Football, no Monday Night Football, and no pro football at all. They should be complemented for stepping up and doing the best they can even if they fall short of expectation. What did you expect?
As far as the Monday Night Football error in the last play with Green Bay and Seattle where it was clearly an interception in the end-zone, don’t blame the refs, and blame the rules. The NFL could have overruled this call then. Why was this not over ruled when there was a chance to
correct the call? (Note: former NFL referee Jerry Austin, an on-air consultant, later explained that replay officials in the booth cannot rule on possession).
Face it, the NFL officials and the owners are the blame for not working this out before the start of the season.
Get off the replacements; remember without them there would be no football at all. Besides, how many controversial calls happen during the season with the regular refs? I can tell you it’s not a perfect profession, and we are all human. Just imagine what if the replacement referees said no. Thank these guys for at least taking on the challenge and saving the season.
And for all the commentators speaking up in anger, shut the you know what up! Are you really angry at these guys or is it something to get excited about. Get on the league, the owner/referee negotiations, but stop bashing the replacements. It makes you look like replacements yourselves.
