AMR Corporation – Airlines
AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines and regional carrier American Eagle, which previously announced it would slash jobs at American Airlines as it restructures under bankruptcy protection, will also cut as many as 600 jobs at American Eagle. The job cuts are aimed at reducing costs.

Small engine maker Briggs and Stratton will eliminate 210 jobs at its Poplar Bluff, Mo., plant. Job cuts, attributed to decreased product demand, will take place April 12.

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company – Tobacco Products Manufacturing
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. will cut 10 percent of its U.S. workforce or approximately 540 jobs. The layoffs, which will begin this month and continue through 2014, are attributed to decreased product demand, technology efficiencies, and outsourcing initiatives.
