AMR Corporation – Airlines

AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines and regional carrier American Eagle, which previously announced it would slash jobs at American Airlines as it restructures under bankruptcy protection, will also cut as many as 600 jobs at American Eagle. The job cuts are aimed at reducing costs.

Transcontintental Inc. – Commercial Printing

Transcontinental Inc., Canada’s largest printer, will close two Quad/Graphics plants and eliminate 500 jobs at the end of June. The move is part of an effort to reorganize the business in connection with the company’s acquisition of Quad/Graphics last year.
