“Driven By Design” Fashion and Art at The LA Mart by Chandia Brennen

On Friday October 4th design enthusiast were introduced to the versatility of fashion and art for the Driven By Design event, which took place in the trendy downtown district at the LA Mart.

The Driven By Design producing team places the spotlight on prominent Los Angeles fashion designers, interior designers, beauty, grooming and automotive brands for 1-Day to promote, feature and celebrate the Los Angeles fashion experience in a unique atmosphere to connect design connoisseur and consumers into the L.A. life “Driven By Design.”

The evening commenced with editors, buyers and industry notables mingling in the beautifully decorated venue that housed some of the top vendors and brands. The featured Interior designer created the style lounge ambiance for the Spring/Summer L.A. Fashion presentation was presented by Lori A. Neal, CEO of Diamond Interiors LA. One of the many sponsors also included luxury car brand Porsche, which showcased their highly coveted fleet outside the venue.

The feature runway showcased Dena Burton, BK Phillips, FELIO SIBY and Thai Nguyen that captivated the crowd with innovative designs.

 

The Dena Burton Collection S/S 2014 is for the sexy, smart and carefree trendsetter that isn’t afraid to make a major statement when she walks into a room. The collection consisted of ultra feminine pieces in bold colors that are perfect for yacht parties or dinners on The French Rivera. However, make no mistake, the DBC woman is also a power player in the world of business, which was evident in well tailored suits and polished separates. The collection contained pieces that many ready to wear consumers would embrace in the global fashion market.

BK Phillips

BK Phillips utilitarian line was a refreshing approach to spring with a fusion of Fashion and Function that allow for movement and comfort in dynamic details. Statuesque models were mysteriously sexy in army green hoods that framed their beautiful faces, while others boldly charged forward in rugged pieces perfect for the edgy and fashion forward individual.

FELIO SIBY

The FELIO SIBY Collection consists of handmade shirts, jeans and duffle bags made of exotic skins, cashmeres, and fine cottons, targeting the upscale gentlemen who want to look good, be comfortable and not look like the carbon copy of other men. Dominique Siby, the creative force behind luxury brand FELIO SIBY, discovered his dream of being a high-end fashion designer in the small central African country of Gabon. His spring 2014 collection shows that he’s truly an innovative designer to watch.

Thai Nguyen

Every so often there is a collection that comes down the runway that causes a shortness of breath…this was undoubtedly the gasp worthy moment of the evening.  Inspired by his Vietnamese heritage, the inspiration for the collection was “The Modern Day Princess”, which was romantic, luxurious and ethereal. From well tailored pants with dramatic trains to flowing gowns in vibrant colors and intricate details, undeniably the collection contained various pieces that could compete on a Hollywood red carpet.
