ETL/Business Intelligence Architect

 Location:  Cambridge, MA or Santa Barbara, CA

Status:  Full-time/Regular

Possible relocation

 Duties:

  • Architect role in the Data Services Group by providing technical support to the Finance organization. 
  • Creation of new ETL solutions, Client model requirements and developing data models. 
  • Additionally, the developer will be responsible for building/customizing business intelligence portals and dashboards to assist the finance team with analysis and planning. 

 Required experience:

  • 5+ experience in IT Applications development with at least 5 years experience specific to ETL architecture, development and execution of ETL processes and BI exposure.
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server, specifically 2005 or 2008
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
  • Solid understanding and proven experience in DW/BI principles, ETL methodologies, including the concepts, design and usage of data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores
  • Expert skills designing, developing, tuning, debugging and deploying SQL Server stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages
  • 5+ years of database design, monitoring and tuning, profiling and performance optimization, including aggregate and index design, usage and options to improve load and extract performance in data warehousing and BI environments
  • Strong business process background

 Required Skills:

Ability to switch back and forward between an Architect and developer role

 Additional:

  • Relational database modeling skills
  • Experience with building BI portals and dashboards for DW’s using tools such as Essbase, Khalix, Cognos
  • MS SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to gather business requirements from client and translate those requirements to technical specifications and designs.
  • Self motivated with strong history of delivering solid products under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with commercial SDLC practices (version control, defect tracking, product schedules and deliverables)
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to gather business requirements from client and translate those requirements to technical specifications.

 Preferred:

  • Microsoft Dynamics GP, Oracle or SAP experience
  • Knowledge of financial systems and procedures.
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders to analyze, define and specify requirements and functions for new services.
  • Masters degree in computer science or related field
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming (C# .NET preferred)
  • Microsoft SQL Server certification
  • Experience with Finance ERPs
