by Vassula Ryden
Imagine if you could peel the fabric separating our world of humans from the world of God. What would you see and hear? What might be revealed? What would you do with what you learned?
Vassula Ryden, in her latest book, Heaven Is Real But So Is Hell: An Eyewitness Account of What is to Come shares prophetic messages foretelling events to come and what is meant by the “End of Times.” Through divine locutions, Vassula has received messages from God, in which He warns a time of trial and judgment is near, yet offers us His Love and salvation, before it’s too late.
About Vassula Ryden
She’s a globally recognized public speaker, author and evangelist. Egyptian born Vassula Ryden, though ethnically Greek, began her journey of spiritual enlightenment over 25 years ago when she began receiving messages from her Guardian Angel and then God.
The controversial writer, a non-practicing Greek Orthodox Christian when this process began, says that from a tender age she has seen the supernatural world. Vassula found out that her mission was not only to receive but to transmit these messages, visions and prophecies to the world. “Heaven is Real But So is Hell: An Eyewitness Account of What is to Come,” her first book to be released in the U.S., can best be described as a spiritual autobiography.
In it Ryden shares her experiences with the hidden forces that affect every moment of our lives, recounting her communications from God that put these images in context.
As the wife of Swedish diplomat stationed in Bangladesh in 1985, Vassula led a relatively carefree life when she had a spiritual encounter that changed her life, as well as many others.
The rudiments of the book commenced when Ryden had no particular commitment to or knowledge of any particular religion. Nor had she received any religious training. Yet she says she was compelled to write.
Ryden also has what she calls “interior visions” of heaven and the future and has foreseen three important events which came to fruition: including the destruction of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001; The Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004; and The fall of Communism in the former Soviet Union.
Still, such “doomsday” prophecies are not the focus of her ministry. God’s messages to Ryden emphasize his love and desire that all people have an intimate relationship with Him. They also stress the need for unity among Christian denominations.
Since then, she has had thousands of similar experiences, transcribing “messages” from God in a different style than her normal handwriting. The messages have been compiled in books, videos and other materials, which are promoted and distributed under the title, ‘True Life in God’ after Vassula was told by God in 1987, I have chosen you as a blank canvas to fill it up only with My Work which I will name: “True Life in God.”
Although she is Greek Orthodox, Ryden has a large Catholic following. She has cordial relations with many Vatican officials and presented a copy of “True Life in God” to Pope Benedict XVI in 2008.
Ultimately Heaven is Real, But So is Hell recounts many experiences with both good and evil forces and reveal profoundly important messages for all humanity.
Literary website The Patch offered praise for Ryden’s work, “Sometimes harrowing, but filled with hope, it answers many of the questions that people have been asking for thousands of years and at the same time offers a glimpse into God’s love and justice, and of what is soon to come. “
