Brooklyn-based global marketplace for chefs Kitchensurfing has raised a $15 million Series B round led by Tiger Global Management with participation from previous investors Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital. Kitchensurfing provides a platform for chefs, both professional and amateur, to connect with each other and offer their services for in-home meals. Launched quietly in New York last year, Kitchensurfing will use the new funds to grow its team and expand to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Berlin.
Kitchensurfing is a global marketplace for people that love connecting over delicious food. Our goal is to unify the intimacy of a dinner party with the ease of walking into restaurant: Whether it’s a worry-free meal at home with a professional chef or an exotic dinner party in an extraordinary location—Kitchensurfing has you covered.
Book chefs for your events, invite them into your home to teach you, your friends and your family their tricks in the kitchen—even barter to create unique events of your own!
Within Kitchensurfing, everyone is a chef. You’ll find chefs who have worked in high-end professional kitchens, chefs who have been to culinary school, and chefs who have mastered one amazing family recipe and want to share it with the world.
