The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (MVA) will be reopening and rededicating the newly renovated and restored Bob Hope Patriotic Hall on November 8, 2013. The $46 million dollar project underwent extensive renovation, modernizing the facility while retaining its historic charm. Patriotic Hall was originally built in 1925 and was erected as a living monument and meeting place for veterans of the Civil War, Spanish American War, and World War I. The newly renovated Bob Hope Patriotic Hall will be home to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the Department of Mental Health and five veterans’ service organizations creating a full, one-stop service center that focuses solely on supporting U.S Military Veterans and their families. The ceremony will be hosted by Fritz Coleman, Southern California’s broadcasting icon and weathercaster from NBC4, and will begin at 10:30am.
