Late September is always the time of the year where we suddenly realize that summer is over and we didn’t get to enjoy the sun as much as we wanted to. The “Estate Italiana Party” hosted by “An Italian Theory” was the perfect event, to remind us, how much we all love summer. That season is very special to Italy and Italians as they have the most picturesque islands to enjoy the sun and get tanned. So, for his Spring/Summer 2016 womenswears collection, Alessandro Enriquez designer of the brand “An Italian Theory” wanted to takes us back to a place that felt like summer, and he did just that, as the location of the party was completely opened, surrounded by palm trees that had sneakers attached to them. It was reminiscent of the perfect summer day, the moment, you touch the sand and you take off your shoes immediately and tie them to a tree.
Finding a place that would take us back to summer in Milan, might have been a hard task, but they pulled it off as the decor of the location was set up as if you were in a beach resort somewhere in the world or better yet somewhere in Italy. Guest were able to see the collections by sitting on a long beach chair under umbrellas, or by standing and enjoying the chips that were being passed around. There was also the possibility to go around small booths that had ice creams, chips and of course a bar with special summer drinks.
Just by the patterns used in the collection, we could tell that the inspiration behind was the beach itself as the print of a full 60’s skirt with its matching shirt was the waves; another outfit was the shade of the ocean with small fish. The wave effect was repeated in another dress but in a light red shade. Lines, hearts and ice cream cones were also part of the prints. The colors of the collection were very festive, yellow, red, white and blue. The girls looked like Italian island girls, with some of them wearing big round sunglasses, others with white bandanas in their head. Another outstanding outfit of the collection was a white ensemble with the writings of some key summer and Italian words such as “Sicilia, isole, barca, bikini and Sardegna”. On that white ensemble: button down sleeveless shirt and skirt, some prints were added such as ice cream cones and birds.
Dj Sergio Tavelli entertained guests, as he played Italian and French music from the 60’s. Without a doubt he successfully transported guest back to another era, and created the perfect end to our summer.
