Yes! It is that time of the year again. With record breaking awards for Game of Thrones to Viola Davis being the first woman of color to win best actress in a drama series, the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards had it all! Award season is the only time we remain ignorantly shameless about bringing out the hidden Miranda Priestly within us to discuss the highs and lows of the red carpet. “Did you see what she was wearing?” “Omg! I love that dress.” And much more…
For those who missed or haven’t, here’s a quick recall of our favorite gasp worthy moments from the red carpet.
First of all, we’d like Sofia Vergara to take the blame for the heat wave that Los Angeles faced yesterday. Phew! That body and that dress, she is definitely working those curves for every designer right!
Burgundy definitely isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but Sarah Hyland is one bright diamond. The off-the-shoulder with a hint of mermaid was absolutely working in her favor. We also loved the short bob waves so much more than her signature goldilocks. Don’t you?
A beauty inside out, Viola Davis was our favorite of the night! Not only is her magnificent gown a treat to the eyes, so was her unflinchingly powerful speech after winning the award. A complete charmer, we can’t wait to see more of her and more like her.
From meat dresses (yes, she wore real meat once upon a time) to inextricably high shoes, Lady Gaga is always a surprise on the red carpet. And so it was, this time again…
The plaid black dress with blonde bob is an outright winner-winner chicken-dinner for us. Jaw dropping isn’t it?
Move over flowy silhouettes, Kerry Washington shows us how to rock that thigh high slit in a calf length gown. Delicate intricacy juxtaposed with shimmer and shine and puffed shoulders, somebody cue the rock ’n’ roll! We are in awe of the neckline highlighting her collarbones, giving it a completely classy chic feel. Would you dare to wear this?
Jamie Alexander is one stunner. The soothing colors, powerful sequencing and sleek hair, she is taking the red carpet by storm. We’d like to say minimalist but there is something so maneuvering about this outfit, don’t you agree?
Lastly, in no particular order whatsoever, Emma Roberts was the most soothing and subtle to the eye. Gentle like a daisy yet chic with the plunging neckline and side swept hair, we’re giving this a 10 for the overall gorgeousness. She’s got the pose and the poise captured all in one and also; we can’t stop eyeing that delightful clutch!
