The autumn leaves are falling and the weather is finally cooling down. Say goodbye to shorts and flip-flops and say hello to coats and boots. Fall is finally here! It is time to change up your wardrobe and make sure you are up to date with the latest trends and style this season.
We’ve collected several fashion pieces and styles we believe will be popular this season. Popular? Yes, popular. We’re talking about style and trends celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Rihanna have chosen to wear this fall. Not only are these fashion trends well-liked by celebrities, but the trends are also known to be on runways such as Alexander Wang, Topshop, Versace, and many more.
So you’ve put away your high-waisted shorts, but that does not mean you have to go back to the same pair of low-rise jeans. The fall season is perfect for styling high-waisted bottoms because it provides you with the coverage you need along with the style—whether they’re trousers, skinny jeans, or even track pants. The high-waist creates a smaller mid-section so you still get the effect you would with high-waisted shorts, the only difference is…a little more fabric. This fashion piece can easily be paired with almost anything and everything—from a tight crop top to a loose fitting top.
Furs, flares, suede, denim mini skirts—the 70’s are making its way back this season! The 70’s was an exciting era that exaggerated almost every fashion piece popular in the 60’s. Want to rock a pair of flare bottoms? Bell-bottoms (flares) will be this season’s most popular bottom because it brings a dose of glam to your style. So go thrifting and find a pair of bell-bottoms to pair with a simple crop top. Too plain, you think? Add on that faux fur coat you didn’t think you would ever wear. Faux Fur is another popular piece during the 70’s and will definitely be a statement piece to your outfit. Now let’s not forget the denim button-up skirt that you’ve been seeing most girls rock lately. The skirt is usually very structured and can be paired with a simple crop top or even a blouse. The key to the 70’s style is creativity. Put these pieces in a way that demonstrates your individuality and you are good to go!
When you think black head-to-toe, you think dark and somber. Well, that is not the case this season. Putting black pieces with other black pieces can actually bring out a compelling style you never expected. Black on black for fall is classic and timeless. Believe it or not, black has the ability to slim down your physique! Darker hue pieces are strategies of slimming yourself down, but black is the most effective because it creates a lengthy vertical line. Take the risk and add a bit more of edge to your outfits. After all, Black is the new black.
Every fall we expect to see rich jewel tones dominate the season. So what’s the ideal color to wear this fall? Not red, not orange, and not yellow..mustard yellow! This hue is perfect for the season because it’s not your typical yellow, but a very subtle, yet vibrant color you can easily pair with patterns or other bold colors. Our style team is totally obsessed with this hue, we’re sure you’ll be too!
You’ve seen the boots, the flats, and the converse every fall. But have you seen the pair of shoes that everyone has been wearing or wanting to buy? The Adidas Original Superstars. These sneakers are classic styled shoes that are inspired by the iconic 70’s basketball shoes. They’re a bit bulky and have a rubber shell toe. These Superstars are popular to today’s generation because it’s classic and comfortable. They are easily styled with skinny jeans, sweatpants, or even shorts. Thumbs up for versatility. Most definitely a must-have this fall!
Fashion is defined as what is “in” and popular at the moment. This season, many of these statement pieces are considered to be fashionable. However, style is interpreted as how you choose to express yourself through the fashion. So overall, if you choose to follow any of these fashion trends and pieces we have collected for you, style the pieces to your own liking and comfort. Because at the end of the day, no matter what season it is, YOU are the most important piece.
