“The Dia Diaries” – Red Carpet Wrap-up: Emmy Edition

In the words of Andy Warhol “Fashion wasn’t what you wore someplace anymore; it was the whole reason for going.” Let’s face it, whether nominated or not, many celebrities attend award shows to be seen in the hottest designer fashions. On August 25th the red carpet dazzled bright for the Emmy Awards. From sexy silhouettes in bold colors to chic clean lines, this year’s carpet would quench any fashion enthusiast thirst. Undoubtedly, there were a few stand out stars that were competing for the most prestigious honor of the evening…The best dressed award.

Red is the New Black

It takes a confident woman to wear such a commanding color on the carpet, which is why it comes as no surprise that these ladies would lead the pack in various hues of red. Our stand out star in this category is Uzo Abduba (Star of Orange is the new black) in a bespoke Christian Siriano gown. We’re totally obsessed with its tapered silhouette, soft chiffon ruffles and her medley of minimal accents pieces.

The Shining Star

Nothing says Hollywood glamour on a red carpet quite like intricately embellished gowns. Unlike like last season when gold gowns reigned supreme, platinum and champagne stole the spotlight in captivating styles. Mommy-to-be, Hayden Panettiere accentuated her baby bump perfectly in a spectacular Lorena Sarbu metallic gown. Loves it!

With fall on the horizon, it was refreshing to see the introduction of regal jewel tones to initiate the departure of summer. While all the ladies looked outstanding, Actress Keke Palmer stole the show in a jaw dropping cobalt blue trumpet gown by Rubin Singer.

Dreaming In Color

Forget soft pastel and monochromatic color! These style stars brought the best of summer with vibrant neon’s that exploded onto the red carpet. One look in particular had us reaching for a brown bag just to catch our breath. Teyonah Parris looked absolutely stunning in a Christian Siriano gown that complemented her radiant complexion.

White Nights

Classic yet contemporary, white gowns were also the perfect choice for a summer award ceremony. The real winner of the evening was Camila Alves that looked astounding in a Zuhair Murad Resort 2015 Ready-to-Wear Collection. The dress featured a mosaic pattern and bateau neckline, with all-over sheer detailing and a skinny white belt.
