Though vacation can be a time for fun and relaxation, packing for it can be a burden. To help you, we have compiled a list of summer getaway essentials to ensure the perfect, stress-free vacation. Here are some suggestions to keep you from over and under-packing!
Sunglasses: Whether you choose to go for the ‘70s era heart-shaped shades or the classic black wayfarers, sunglasses will stop you from squinting your way through summer and can also add a pinch of style to an already- cute outfit.

Sunscreen: Even if you’re not competing in the Summer Olympics, we’re all trying to get the gold! While summer’s sunrays can kiss you until bliss, they can also do major long and short-term damage to your skin. Protecting yourself from the sun’s dark side can begin with packing some sunscreen in your summer bag and applying it when necessary.
Books or magazines to read: There’s no better way to complete the escape from the real world than getting lost in a good book or magazine. Having one or both can help you relax and occupy your time if you’re lounging by a pool or on the beach. If you prefer to go digitial, be sure to check out updates from The Dia Diaries!
Bathing suit with optional cover-up: Vacation time has become almost synonymous with pool or beach. Wherever you’re headed this summer, be sure to pack a bathing suit because you’re going to need to cool off! Remember that the only thing you need to have to show off your “summer body” is to choose a bathing suit that you feel comfortable in. Whether it’s a perfectly shredded two-piece or a printed one piece like our favorite Nicki Minaj opts for, wear it with confidence and comfort! (And if faux-fur coats are your favorite cover-up too, that works just fine!)

Skirts: On vacation or at home, cute outfits are a must for every day of the year. For your day adventures, we recommend a printed circle skirt paired with a sunhat to keep you fresh. We’re totally in love with the versatility of the asymmetrical skirt paired with a printed top.

Makeup bag: It’s no secret that being in the sun all day can wreak havoc on your contour. Be sure to pack your makeup bag and all your essentials so that you can revamp your cateye or matte your lips on the beach or before dinner. Don’t be afraid to pack in your favorite perfume for a quick spritz too!
Leave-in conditioner or dry shampoo: Sweat and saltwater can serve as the kiss of death to perfectly-curled or straightened hair but Mother Nature herself can also give you rugged but glamorous beach waves without irons or damage. The environment can also have an adverse effect on your hair, making it feel dry or oily. In this event, we recommend some leave-in conditioner or dry shampoo to put a refreshed pump back in your locks.
